Media Skills

Purpose: To help students cultivate an understanding of media by exploring gender and stereotypes in advertising,  copyright laws, the language of film, the use of codes and conventions, the evolution of media genres, and the art of scriptwriting. Students will critically examine media messages and their impact on societal attitudes, navigate legal and ethical dimensions, decipher the visual and narrative language of film, and apply the principles of genre and scriptwriting in media production. By doing so, students will become discerning, media-literate creators and consumers, capable of engaging thoughtfully with contemporary media landscapes.
