Year 9 Geography Skills

Purpose: To develop students' geographical literacy by exploring the fundamental concepts of longitude and latitude, area and grid references, graphing, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to understand locations on Earth. By interpreting topographic maps and mastering precis sketching, students will further their spatial awareness and map-reading skills. They will also examine how geography plays a vital role in the tourism industry, allowing them to appreciate the interconnections between physical landscapes and human experiences across the globe.
