What is GIS?
What is GIS?
GIS stands for Geographic Information Systems. The ideas behind GIS are used everywhere these days- they used to be limited to experts with specific software but now are used by the likes of Google Maps, finding routes/journey planners, geotagging (think of your map on Snapchat) and these are accessible to everyone. Basically it is using maps to show data that we can use and analyse.
