We are all unique in what makes us up as a person. We are influenced by our upbringing, the culture we are surrounded by. The purpose of this task is to see what things that make us who we are, and how those compare to our classmates.
Why is this important to Humanities?
Because our culture jam influences how we see the world. It is important that we acknowledge these things. The perspective and the values we have influence everything.
Brainstorm- interests, hobbies, culture, music, movies, family, pets, religion/beliefs
Think about how you are going to represent parts of your culture and identity. In the above examples, there are quite a few who have used a cross- what might that represent? What does a palm tree represent? A movie ticket?
Layer your objects so that they actually look like they are in the jar. Start at the bottom- things sitting higher in the jar are more likely to be over top of other items. PENCIL FIRST! Then go over with felts/colouring pencil/pens when you are happy with your design. The top photo are year 9s and the bottom is from year 7-8 so you can do even better...
