Students will explore the concept of ingenuity and innovation with a key focus on a famous NZ innovator/changemaker
We are exploring innovators, entrepreneurs, and entrepreneurship in Aotearoa New Zealand. In the past, number 8 wire was common on New Zealand's remote farms, where getting new supplies was difficult. Farmers had to be resourceful, using the wire and other scrap materials to solve problems creatively. This led to the "number 8 wire mentality," reflecting a can-do attitude and Kiwi ingenuity. Many inventors embraced this mindset, leading to some unique inventions. Famous New Zealand inventions include the jetboat, electric fencing, and bungy jumping.
You will work individually to create a poster, slideshow etc. about an innovator, entrepreneur, or changemaker of your choice. Your task is to research and learn about a changemaker and the change or innovation they brought about.
