We can't fix inequality without changing the rules. Many unfair laws have caused today’s inequality. Even sales tax is unfair because it takes a bigger share of money from people with lower incomes.
Some popular ideas to reduce inequality are:
Raise the minimum wage.
Increase taxes on very high incomes.
Close tax loopholes.
Limit CEO pay.
Penalize companies for sending jobs overseas.
Offer incentives to create jobs in inner cities.
Strengthen laws to ensure fair hiring, pay, and promotion for women and minorities.
