Purpose: To facilitate a deep exploration of the multifaceted issue of climate change, centering on New Zealand's role in greenhouse gas emissions and its global context. Through comprehensive examination, students will investigate the responses to this critical challenge, with a particular focus on the concepts of clean energy and the consequences associated with the use of nuclear power. Additionally, students will analyse the historical and contemporary reasons behind New Zealanders' opposition to nuclear power, while considering potential strategies for mitigating emissions and contributing to a sustainable global future.
